Since the update it's pretty great tbh, make sure your ports are forwarded and everything is gravy. I haven't had any issues in ages.

The server update a few months ago has pretty much eliminated the proxy. So way better au connections. Downside is it broke some other stuff which is still being worked on.

Hey, im from TAS, and for now the proxy is kinda out, so no massive pings to AUS rn

Games seem fine unless your internet itself goes awol so try not to listen to people saying "omg stalewee 400 ping"

Oh, and i have basic 10mbs ADSL, no nbn for me yet

The NBN roll-out map says that my house is the last in the queue, so my net is the same as yours.

You don't get a problem when there is more than one aussie in the same game?

For a while we had to go aussie -> euro proxy -> aussie and that meant huge lag.

I play from Brisbane on crappy 8mbps adsl2+ and its mostly fine... sometimes its slow but 90% of games are ok.

I mostly play 1v1 games so it would be worse in team games. When I play a team game it is more 50/50 if there is lag or not ... but once again my net is crap.

I think you should try it and see

G'day,

I dropped off a year or two ago when some proxy was added that made FAF essentially unplayable for Australians.

Any aussies around that could tell me the current state of connectivity for us?
