yes.
we all prefer more waiting over bad matchmaking.
right now the matchmaking is introducing more waiting simply by reducing drastically the number of people who search anyways.

We discussed this on slack.

To clarify: Rating/ranked play is not reset and no changes have been made to this in the past 2 weeks (probably longer).

Alternative is for new players to get no games at all, or to introduce a delay and try to find a more optimal match within a small window -- this introduces additional waiting time for ladder players, but I suppose people wouldn't mind this if given better matches.

To illustrate my point better. These are my last few ladder games. Games in yellow indicate vs against a noob with no chance.

This is demoralizing for them, the get walked over and don't learn anything. This is boring for me and wastes an entire night. I assume this is temporary, but if this would continue I would stop playing ladder.

Help.

Did someone change ratings and ranked?

I am writing this as I am playing. This is about the 5th game I have had in a row where the other guy has no chance (it is different guys).

I'm playing beginners again. People who go first static AA for example.

It's really annoying because it's wasted my night. whats up?

I'd normally just quit but it looks like ill be playing these guys until their rating gets sorted out.
