I'm too lazy to setup the rest.

T1 gens only need to be a half space appart to protect them from their neighbours death explosion. If you were worried about (Cybran/UEF) bombers, or wanted to fill in the gaps and do something with adjacency at a later stage, you can always give your grid a full space width apart.

Remember to build this in a long snaking order (see above right) so that your engis arent wasting time traveling from one area to another. I love that templates remember the build order, this means you can minimise build travel time and ensure that your eco and defence templates are building in the right order to provide required power and shielding to themselves from he start.

2)T3 massfarm with T2 massfabs, more efficient than T3 fabs but even more volatile
Image
3) Most efficient massfarm possible, everything is interlocking.

This farm will go up in flames if 2 structures die. Only good for thermonoob no arty games. Here is the template for it

I only use these templates in survival or the very occasional thermo. But they look nice.

To start things off (with a less practical / serious example), here is a late game powerfarm template that I like to use.
The whole thing is built in a spiral from the initial T3 shield (that perfectly envelops the whole template), you don't need to build the whole thing ofcourse, it provides protected power from the first Pow Gen being completed, but becomes more efficient and better protected the bigger the spiral grows.
Image
Even though it looks like the most suicidaly volatile layout imaginable, its is remarkably robust. Any of the component powergens can be destroyed without damaging any of its neighbouring pow gens or shields because of the way the T2 shields overlap.
Image
As I said this isn't the most serious example, but just wanted to get the ball rolling. I love how you can get creative with with the adjacencies and create some really efficient and neat layouts. Lets see some of yours..
