Nobody has suggested that beginners exclusively play 5x5. That would prevent them from ever improving.

Rating is not indicative of games played. I play like 5 ladder games in 3 months, maybe less but I still hold 1300+ rating. I would stop playing ladder completely if I knew I had to play 5km beginner maps only.

Also I seem to be underrated since I tend to win most of them so rating decay wouldn't solve anything. Just noting this in advance. xD

Speaking as someone who was and is very happy with the small map pool as 750 rated player.

The most important reason I like it is because if I play 5 games in a week I have experience with every map that comes up. In the old system every game was a new map I was at best vaguely familiar with, but still had no good idea what to do with it. However, if I would play more I wouldn't have a problem with a bigger map pool.

Can't the map selection be dependent on games played?

Create a beginners map pool, and have players select maps from the entire pool for their own selection as it was in the past.
Based on the player with the lowest amount of games played in the last 3 months:

<50 games played in last 3 months: 100% chance of beginners map pool
50-100 games played in last 3 months: 50% chance of beginners map pool, 25% player 1 map selection, 25% player 2 map selection
>100 games played in last 3 months: 50% player 1 map selection, 50% player 2 map selection

and not by the first 1000 only, because this is what ladder is mainly right now,

and calling people pussies and noobs doesn't help one bit,

promoting healthy playing habits on the other hand it does

The prebuilt units and reenforcement system for ladder? Yes. Even now some maps give advantage to some factions. Somebody may get lucky and get sera vs cybran on theta. 1k rating difference would matter nothing if lower rated player gets factory from start, as he may just go full Lame style and draw higher rated player no problem. Or titan that will arive to main island on roanoke to become a reclaim... There are many map and faction related examples of why this system is bad for ladder. And since i like ladder concept with 150+ maps...

I dislike idea of having prebuilt stuff. However why not utilize old reenforcement system from galactic war? Like titan minute 5 or pd in base on start. But if so, why simply not get GW itself back?

Any way i don't think it's not a very good idea for ladder.
