Beat this CPU

I was close with my laptop once... 927. It was an accurate reading. Then later the hard drive was formatted on it is under 300.

EDIT: yesterday there was someone who's cpu wasn't correctly read and it never was the same and at one point it reached 1100-1200

Maybe the price difference ?? I don't know... unless you go the yarrr- harrrr way :D :D - then W8 for sure.
As I said, I found only a few compatibility issues. But I guess W7 also had them when going from XP.

The video card looks like a Radeon 4870x2. Possibly the reference version straight from AMD.

Metro/ Modern UI is useless, but you can get by it and boot straight to desktop.
I never had problems with supcom, it worked flawlessly. Pretty much all of my games, which worked on W7, have worked on W8 too. There is only one program, which didn't work for me in W8, so I was forced to use a VM for it. However, that program is pretty obscure and most of you probably won't care about it anyway.
I like the system for its new and much improved task manager, and much improved explorer (folder explorer, not IE).
Performance? Pretty much the same as W7, and it takes about the same amount in RAM too.

Imagine you had a new pc. Would you put w7 or w8 on it?

Same question here! I'm curious if it's really a performance improvement or not.

Cheers!

How much did your setup cost you? I assume you bought it around 3-4 years ago since all of the components you mentioned were top-of-the-line at that point.

Cheers dude :) I bought it in June 2011, so about the time that LGA1366 was being superceded. Cost was about AU$5K for the PC, and about AU$2K spent on audio setup. It was a fair bit to fork out at the time, but I really needed an upgrade capable of solid VM work and gaming.

And the reason why I will never play anything larger than a 2v2, the Lag would be unbearable.
