indeed it does. i think this might be because its sometimes hard to tell the difference between valid complaints and ... just weird shit on the forums

It's not valid, Neptune is a fantastic unit. If people don't use it that's their fault.

The fact that this was in the balance forum meant that I took it seriously until I got about four sentences in and then I lost it. This was really funny man. Especially the last part.

On a serious note the unit itself no matter how it is named is well balanced. If you want to see them use properly find a replay of Foley playing UEF Navy

I think there is a problem with the Neptune. The unit is awesome at what it does, but what it does is not enough for many commanders. The Neptune strikes fear into every non T3 naval noob who surmises he has the upper hand, "roll in the Salems". Their unique inability to foresee 3 minutes ahead culminates in an electric blue laser bolt bursting out of the fog. A Neptune emerges. Scything down destroyer after destroyer it's panic stations at noob HQ. The perplexed T2 commander builds a few more destroyers before the screams come from over the shoulder "spam subs!" "go T3, get battleships!!", "empty slot, we're f***ed". Alas, it is too late. The UEF commander has inhaled thousands in reclaim. Summit, Bulwark, Cooper, Cooper. More facs queued up. Summit, Summit, Summit, Summit. Under the command of many UEF commanders the hero Neptune may never see a brother. One of two fates may await him, continue the charge with his ragtag band of followers while the real force amasses back home, it may even win it right there and then. Or it may be recalled, to serve out the rest of its time within the confines of the Bulwarks dome of eternity, little more than a bodyguard for the real stars of the show, the Summits.

For such a majestic unit to be utilised so sparing by some commanders is a travesty and a simple balance change could bring it to the superstar status it deserves. This change? A name change. This stems from GPG's ignorance of mythology. You see, Neptune is the God of the sea, which is clearly the Summit. Proposal: The Neptune should be renamed. Rename it to its smaller neighbor. Uranus. God of the sky. The sea sky. Swatting away all those pesky clouds of frigates keeping the sea sky clear for the true Neptune, the Summit, to roam unmolested. I feel this name change alone could reinvigorate and see greater deployment of Uranus in ponds.

Rush Uranus. Uranus is damaged. Kill him with Uranus. I got killed by Uranus. He is spamming Uranus. I'm going to Summit Uranus. Shield Uranus. Nuke Uranus. Ambassador unloaded on Uranus. Attack that Galaxy with Uranus. He hit Uranus with Mercy...with a simple name change the possibilities of satisfaction are endless for commanders and Uranus may not become so obsolete once we reach the Summit.
