Heh, I initially thought you guys somehow got ahold of the original source code for the game. But now that I'm looking at your git repo... it's all done in Lua, via the mod API GPG provided? That's actually... quite impressive. Also if that's the case I imagine it had to be bloody frustrating at times, not having access to the low level stuff. My own game started out as a mod too so kinda familiar chores there back in the day;)

Yes and yes.

Thank you for your post, I apreciate it and I'm sure everyone else who has contributed does too.

Just wanted to say hi, started playing FAF a couple weeks back I'm absolutely bloody loving it! Yup, I'm horribly bad at it (played supcom back when it was still maintained by GPG but clearly none of my skill remains) yet I'm still having tons of fun even getting wrecked online.

As someone who just released a game on Steam and is struggling to maintain some community around it I'd also like to express my utmost respect for FAF devs. Keeping the game running and active and patched and balancing it for so long is a tremedous achievement. Kudos to the awesome community here too - got called a noob a lot and then got hints on how to suck less from the same players, imagine my surprise after playing lots of relatively hostile games like Starcraft and Halo. All that combined will certainly make me and my studio mates lose way too many evenings on FAF now:)

Cheers and see you in the lobby!
