Been using it since 2007 so I don't even think of it as unknown. I, too, thought it was in the game tutorial and several "how-to" YouTube vids by community members.

I see I was completely misunderstood by people.

Where is the the wiki? (NOT FAF wiki, but FA wiki) FAF wiki is easy to find through FAF.

The feature described here may not be voluntarily used by some people.

Nobody should use that feature, because its is broken like hell, as it results in the worst pathfinding imaginable. Also, the default formation is the ls the staggered line. I can't think of one situation where you would want the column formation in FA... In reality column formation are about a small footprint an fast move speed. In supcom that dpoes not apply and you always want a large front to deal the most damage per time.

Talking about formations though. AT some point in time it would be great if somebody could mod a custom formations tool, like ZeroK has, where you can draw a curved line. Then again... FA pathfinding...

Did Coordinated atack got fixed anyway? so far as i know it fucks up unit movement hard, and does not work very well anyway, Only time i sometimes use it when spamming tons of artys

another stealthy feature is the control over formations using left and right clicks.

The simplest way to see it is to give a move order with a right click, not let go of the click and either press right click to cycle through formations or WAIT with the left click pressed. Alternatively you could left click, hold down the click and drag.

The amount of time you have to WAIT above, depends on lag. The amount of time you have to drag the move order also depends on lag.

The result is either a formation move or a standard move order, which will have a drastic effect on how your units approach the waypoint.
