as i said, their is nothing to correct except my own game

Perhaps when people lose a game "because of somebody else" they need to ask themselves whether Blackheart or galacticfear would have won that game. If the answer is yes, which it almost surely is, then take that as an opportunity to improve your own play to make up for your team. (even if the answer is no, you should still try to be nice, of course :D)

little correction: change "Blackheart or galacticfear" to SC for setons and Zock for 1v1

I think saying the answer is often yes is a stretch... when I ctrlk I am pretty confident Gala/BH etc. wouldn't have had any better than a 33% chance to win the game either... Gala loves to explain to me what he would have done, but that doesn't mean it would have worked.

When you ctrlk I often think "thank god, this was the only way to win this crap" :D

Maybe we can also ban the Cybran players who make a bunch of engineering stations who then hand them off to their other "allies" and say nothing about it, no chat, no pinging to indicate hey IM STEALING YOUR MASS! Pause me or support if you cant. No F8 to indicate hey look here and make a decision on this.

Maybe we can also ban the players who do other stupid stuff like build no TMD, or surround all their T1 mexes with storage or who only build 1 type of unit all game, or who don't build any units until 20 min in?

Maybe we could ban players for a bunch of reasons. Where does the line get drawn however?

I will admit I need to make some changes. I need to stop getting angry when I see completely stupid shit being done and simply ask after the game if the player is playing for fun or competitively. If they play for fun then I don't have to team with them if they suck, if they play competitively then maybe that is the time to educate them hey Monkey comes on gap every 6-22 min, be ready for it by 17.

Perhaps then is also the time to say hey upgrade the mexes before you build storage.

I don't have the best early game eco too maybe I need to refine it, what puzzles me if I usually run away with eco after the initial upgrading to T3 Mexes as other players simply stop managing their eco.

So mostly you are just playing your own game till you are 1500 and lucky to have proper team without noobs like Gala or 1v1 noobs. So until this happens you just have to be patient and concentrate on improving your game.

When i was 500-1000 i used to call SC "noob" :D Well, he was playing like one in those noob 1000- games, hurting a lot of padavan's feelings by showing no interest in their noob ways of playing. And no panishment will change the reaction when this happens - people will be upset as little kids if you "spoil" their game. I mean when good player "throws" noob game, or when a noob is ruining pro game.

There are 3 ways people adjust to that problem. And i cant blame any of those ways
1. Just leaving when teammates play outistic, but they actually enjoy it :D And then will blame you for "ruining" the game. Cuz why would you spend your time to support someone else's entertainment if you have no fun in it?
2. Enduring or keeping. Some people would do that no matter what. While i admire their patience, i dont see any joy in it.
3. SC's way :D

So by punishing for leaving or cursing you will just make it worse. The only way - be better and enjoy your improvement

edit: oh yeah. And what are you? A plant on the shelf? That cant react and cant change anything? If someone calls you noob - ask why, watch replay, ask advice. This attitube "oh i they make me feel bad. Someone pls do something about it" fkng childish.

PS i think women should work. And men should raise kids. That would solve a lot of whining on forums :D

Just whining about it serves its own purpose. It shows that not everyone is fine with over-inflated egos with short fuses, and hopefully it encourages some to keep their nerves in check when they play.

I don't believe another set of extra rules is required, straight out insults is already punishable I think. And there's no rule that can keep in check the grey area between being a mild douchebag/having a bad day and the clear insults, unless we want the remedy to be worse than the disease.

It also shows new players that could be discouraged by the behavior of some that they can stick around and play with other people that do not behave like 12 years old throwing a tantrum on Call of Duty (while believing they belong to some kind of rocket scientists elite) ;)

problem is only that not even 2% of the faf players read this. especially not the ones who tend to be bag of nerves. And even less would change "just because someone whined about it".

To get 8 min ras you need to look at the critical path. You don't need a premade 8 min BO, though you do if you want 100% efficiency, but not if you just want basic fast ras which works on ANY map. To make ras you need two t2 pgens. To get those you need t2 engi. To get that you need t2 air. To get that you need t1 airfac that you will upgrade. The trick to fast ras is just to start that sequence as early as possible, and waste no time between the steps. So upgrade maybe one t2 mex to use the mass and then make your t1 airfac which will become t2. Start the t2 upgrade immediately and assist with some engies. Meanwhile you upgrade some mexes one by one and reclaim some forest. Then when the t2 upgrade is done make sure you have some engies to assist the t2 pgens, and start your ras.

Meanwhile 4 t1 bombers come in and wipe out your entire power eco or you get dropped on with a T1 engineer drop and they PD def you because you didn't put up radars/have a sufficient counter force. T1 engineering PD creep with a T2 Engie with a shield is particularly nasty early on while you have nothing but your ACU. It immediately becomes the primary threat and if you let it become established /57.

What action would we take? Banning people who lose their shit? Taking points from people who insult instead of offering constructive criticism? If so, how do we know if they aren't joking and on the same page about it with the player they are talking to?

*prod prod*

Unless we enact official rules/ban policies/etc, I think the best reaction is either to not respond or to respond positively. If someone calls you a noob just say, "Yep, you're right, played like shit that game. My bad." I'm 1400 and I played with an 1800 the other day who told me to "make units." I had units on the field. Not as many as he did. I just said, "I played as well as I could. I'm sorry that wasn't good enough for you."

Some people are going to be jerks. Don't encourage them. Just reply calmly, or don't reply at all, and move on with your life. Just as they get angry about a game for no reason, so you would be getting angry about someone who you will never meet name-calling you for no reason. If they want to learn, they will ask. If they attack you, they aren't going to be open-minded about constructive criticism. They are just looking to boost their ego because they just lost... a video game. *gasp*

To sum it up; I wish that people learn to turn their anger into constructive criticism.
Yelling helps no one.

Wait, maybe because Setons is the map where yelling at teammates is most common?
