No problem! I also fixed the bug in the script that created the initial problem in the coming update (uploading to FAF atm).

I normally have the build buttons right and the action buttons left. I think many people have that? It places the build buttons for the most used units (factories, mexes, etc.) more to the middle of the screen. It even seems to be the default.
For now I tried what happens when I switch it around (with Alt-up/down). This does not solve the issue.
The freeze did not happen at clicking the build unit icon, but at the moment the mouse goes over the icon. Can be icon for landfac, wall, etc. It did not happen when the mouse goes over action icons.
On closer inspection, there were other strange things happening in the UI now.

Also, after spawn the ACU was not automatically selected.

You did lead me in the direction to solve it. I removed (renamed) my game.prefs, and now it's working!

I think i've found the problem. Do you have the unit details on the right side of the screen, not on the left? How did you do that? For me it's always on the left.

Emptied [Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Mods]. Started a Nomad sandbox game from FAF, taking faction Nomads. -> Same problem. Actually the freezing does not happen at spawn, but with the first action: pressing the build land factory icon.

Closing normally was not possible, nor doing anything else on the PC. Had to restart PC (software restart).

I did a quick check and it looks like a UI problem. Did you use a UI mod that could be interfering with Nomads? Please try it again with all mods turned off. I'll look into the problem for the next version.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. Maybe it should be in the general Tech Support forum..

I tried to play Nomads for the first time. During spawn the application freezed. I could start task manager, but not see it, the screen was all grey except for the task bar. I tried closing FA and FAF by right clicking the buttons the task bar, that did not work. In the end I had to restart my PC.
