How many times do I have to explain this to people?

Medusas have high arch fire. This means the projectile is fired at the highest of the 2 possible arcs to hit the target. Because it's the high arc, instead of the low arc, there is a lot of "air time" before the shell hits the ground/target. This is the time it takes gravity to decelerate the shell to a stop, and then pull it back down to earth. If the projectile velocity were INCREASED, the would take gravity LONGER to decelerate the shell to a stop, and LONGER to pull it down to earth. Higher projectile velocity is only better for units that have low arc. What you want is lower projectile velocity.

thank god its like that, thats what FA makes FA. PHYSICS YEAH :)

-.1 aurora speed then? I can code that.

It's barely possible to charge Auroras with Mantis, on maps like Theta the Auroras can kite indefinitely.

I'm just curious as to why they were buffed in the first place - the balance team looked at this and said "yes the aurora needs a speed buff, that should balance it real good" & then they went back to drinking rubbing alcohol mixed with mouthwash and psuedoephedrine.

The aurora speed buff was decided for 3603... IE... like 4 years ago. I think all T1 tanks got a 0.1 speed buff... but it makes the most difference on the aurora

Yes not AS pronounced - it's still there though. And let's face it, how many maps in the pool are aurora unfriendly? I can't think of any off the top of my head. No doubt theres a couple but I can think of a helluva lot more that are.

None, hehe.

Of course, UEF hasn't really got any problems dealing with auroras, I don't think. Cybran and Seraphim get their shit kicked by them, however.

Indeed. Auroras rape face on maps where they can easily kite. On maps where they can't manuever so much, it's not as pronounced.

Are you saying it's impossible to beat Aeon or it's impossible to win as Aeon on this map?

I don't think it's true. I've even seen players ignore the plateau and come close to beating a superior player. I don't have the balls to try it in ranked but I think it's doable.

Well of course the aeon can lose if he makes huge mistakes, but a decent aeon player, just able to micro 4 or 5 auroras have a freewin on this map...
