Whenever I attempt to start up the ladder automatch system or make a custom game, it starts updating FAF, says that there was an error, and then it gives me an "Uncaught exception" window; closing and restarting FAF doesn't fix the issue.

It might help to note that I've just returned after several weeks of not playing and updated to the new client when I logged on today.

Same issue. The game sometimes launches, but it's a black screen and when attempting to create/join custom games or play automatch it wants to download things again.

disable ipv6 on your network adapter and try again

Alternatively, try clearing game files.

(The legacy updater is a pile of garbage long overdue for an overhaul :( )
FAF python client is dead. Bug java client devs if you have issues!
