Air Staging

Postby Digdug » 28 Jan 2018, 09:20

I feel like an absolute moron for even asking this but I'll do it anyway. Also, as I'm not sure if what I'm doing wrong is vanilla FAF or Equilibrium I put it here so please forgive me.

Basically I got back into FAF after almost 2 years of inactivity and picked up playing your mod. I have been having an issue however with keeping my aircraft on their patrol routes. I loop them near Air Stage Facilities so they can refuel but as soon as they do so they just park after they're done and do not resume their patrol. It is maddeningly frustrating to see dozens of aircraft just cooling their proverbial heels on the ground instead of doing what I told them to do for all eternity. Any thoughts?

I tested this with UEF Airstaging TECH2 and some TECH1 fighters and bombers.

They land, refuel and then go back to their patrol.

Tested with FAF develop not Equilibrium.

im taking a look at this now.

If you want to not have your units autorefuel you can select them and right click the dock icon which will turn the feature off

theres no need for that, ive already found the cause of the issue, however fixing it while not compromising functionality is proving to be challenging

i could be that guy and say that putting planes on patrol isnt usually a good idea but it doesnt actually solve the issue, so just hang tight while i work out how to do it.

alright, the issue where units on patrol dont go back on patrol after landing is fixed.

heres how it works now:
if an air unit has two or more orders it wont autorefuel.
Image
the blob of inties there will run out of fuel and refuel automagically, then land next to the airstaging they refueled at.
the inties on patrol will refuel and then return to being on patrol.
the scouts there have many orders queued up and wont go to refuel even if they are out of fuel, until they have completed all their orders. (that way you get planes on ahem special missions not deviate from them)

as always, thanks for reporting the issue, do leave any and all feedback, suggestions and so on, it all gets looked at.

this change will be in the next version of the featured mod, due to be released soon™ as usual
