I actually have quite the soft spot for this upgrade, I feel rather responsible for why it's so shitty now.

Some history. In the SCFA beta, I used an upgraded UEF commander to tactical nuke almost every player into oblivion in an FFA on Roanoke. Back then the Range was 5-1026 and it's blast radius was 35. ( you could missile creep any base defense given a strong economy)

Aeon TMD needs help, half the time it drags the missile into the ground detonating it anyway.

Honestly I'd love to see this upgrade buffed, but it's part of a list of requirements for commanders.

I think ALL commanders need their offensive upgrades buffed. The UEF billy. The aeon Chronodampner(so useless it needs fixing) Seraphim Refracting Chronoton Amplifier.(and I'd probably bump the Cybran laser to 30 range as a sympathetic response, range in line with the gun upgrade)

The Billy. This upgrade is the most ridiculously overpriced thing. the billy nuke is 3750M and 451,800E. The launcher is 10,800M and 630,000E. The cost is sky high for what it does. To put it into perspective for launcher and 1 missile your spending 14000M, 2/3rds the cost of a monkey lord in mass but 4 times the cost in energy. And all you get is 12k damage in a small radius every 3 mins.

For its current performance the cost needs to come way down. Its cost is a late game upgrade and it's performance is late T2 early T3. If its cost is to remain the same then it's performance needs to go way up.

An interesting side note is that the visual indicator when targeting the billy is still the SCFA beta indicator I believe.

The other factions useless or underperforming upgrades need their own thread(poor aeon)

Personally I think you should be able to achieve the Billy on a T 2 economy. Extractors and Pgens.(probably a few Pgens, but it should be possible

Best case scenario for a billy is to use it vs a swarm of bricks/percies or other slow moving pack of units.

That's cool and all, but here's my problem with the Billy. With T3 eng suite, and nothing assisting the ACU, building the actual billy missile drains -189 and -22590, taking about 20 seconds to build. That energy drain is huge! The mass cost is actually pretty low for what it does. The build time is ridiculously fast. If it weren't for that -22590 energy drain... who the F has that much energy, except for back player in a setons? I'm glad pause still works on it. There's a reload time on it anyways, where you can't really shoot multiple in a short amount of time anyways (~30 seconds). The build time doesn't need to be that ridiculously low.

If you ever want to see the billy being used, buff it. I never saw a billy being used in high class games, not in early late game or in super late game. This is because of the raw inefficiency of this upgrade. So i dont understand how a lot of people are voting against it?

Yeah this thing needs a buff.

Currently it's built in a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of team games. And more as an insult then a viable option.

You never see it in a 1v1.

It needs a hefty cost reduction. As much as I'd like to see a damage buff it's not very necessary. As it would over kill most viable targets anyway.

See my sig for my mod that rebalces ACU upgrades.

Here is what I did for the billy

Billy - Tactical nuke

Mass 8000 from 10800
Time 7200 from 3600

Time 3600 from 1800
Energy 250000 from 451800

These changes mean the billy will not instastall your economy. At the moment with T3 suite it uses 22590 E/s for each missile. A completely stupid amount. 451800 E is needed for each missile overall. I reduced this to 250000 E and doubled its buildtime so it uses 6250 E/s. Much better but It should still need a T3 infrastructure to support it.

Some notes

Billy can take single TMDs, will detonate on impact with any shield in its trajectory, and seems to have a copped a serious RoF nerf. By comparison the ACU TML seems to be a much better investment.
