Universal Issue with defending and attacking in GW

Hello,

There has now been an issue with GW for several days now. No one is actually able to engage in battles. When a defence is launched, the green bar will start. But it will run for an inordinate amount of time without timing out. The only option is to cancel the defense, or attack, which results in a victory and 5% occupation for the attacker... Which means planets can currently be attacked with impunity. I'm surprised that this has not already been identified and fixed.

EDIT: We just made a successful defence. It seems like the timer length could have been increased. I will confirm whether or not this is an issue.

Yes I do believe this is still bugged. It ought to be a high priority fix. No one is going to play GW if they are unable to launch games. It would be helpful if we could get some kind of ETA on when this issue might be fixed - or an indication of what the problem might be - or what additional information will be needed to find the solution.

So far I haven't heard anything on this. It is a critical issue because there are several KEY DEFENSIVE PLANETS which cannot be defended!!!!!! Meaning that investment in defences is useless and bottlenecks are worthless. Players can break our prisons which we have worked so hard to setup and there is nothing we can do to stop them.

This is the critical juncture in which the Seraphim have been forced to respond. We were expecting some high intensity battles. Not that all factions are actively online, we can't fight at all. This is a huge problem.

If this can't be fixed in good order. I would prefer that GW be frozen until it can.

Edit: Just attempted defence on 1166 against, DrSandClock, and counter attack on 93 against an unknown Cybran. Attack was stopped for some unknown reason on 1166 and I terminated the counter attack on 93 which resulted in a loss. In both cases I allowed the attack bar to run for at least 20 mins. Logs attached.

Thanks Zep. I understand the time constraints. I will continue to post logs so that you might have an information to aid in debugging. However, this issue presents on any and all maps. It occurs regardless of who is defending or attacking and regardless of the planet or it's status. For the last few days there has not been a single battle take place in GW. I don't think it is the map...

If it is the map, then it must be with every single map, and likely caused by update. The problem fist occurred beginning of weekend 1/3.

Seems unlikely, its affecting every planet, including every planet that worked perfectly fine before the last patch. Working on testing maps regardless but, even if it turns out to be a map issue, is it not possible to disable galactic war until this bug can be looked at? This basically breaks everything in a highly abusable way and its not like we can play games in galactic war at the moment anyway.

Good Morning,

i can confirm that its not the maps, it doesnt start any map that worked fine before too. Since last Update something get wrong. Possible its the same problem that make a error massage when you open your reinforcements?

I have posted the faf log of me trying to defend the attacked planet.#
Pilot would it be a good idea to close GW until this big is fixed?

Pilot ill be finished uni in 1 month time, I will test every map that your thinking of putting in the Next GW phase atm this current GW should just be left as it is atm apart from the defend bug needs fixed.

Changing the maps now i think would just be a waste of time as the GW is almost over lol UEF are running other them.

With the problem having effectively having broken the gameplay in GW I think that the galactic map should be frozen until the problem is rectified. We are now in the ridiculous situation of counter charging planets.... I don't think that Pilot has yet comprehended how seriously fucked up GW is right now.

This is not a minor bug report. It is a critical failure. I'd be happy to give assistance for map testing. But this particular issue has nothing to do with maps. There is absolutely no point in continuing with GW till this is fixed. If it isn't fixed GW will not exist... Because no one will be playing it.
