SupCom FA crashes with TM enabled

When I play the original game without mods, there are no crashes, but as soon as I enable Total Mayhem, a crash is most surely to come within 30 minutes or so after starting a new game.

I've tried reinstalling the entire game as well as the mods, and the mods files come from friends who are using the exact same mod files, as well as game files (we're playing through Steam).

It does appear to be completely random. One time it crashed immediately when I tried to construct my first mod unit (the experimental gattling tower), and just recently it crashed after quite along time, during a slow turtle AI game, when the computer attacked me with a lot of air units (not sure which ones).

Is there a way to find crash logs? The only thing I find is a "SupCom.sclog" generated at the same time of when the game crashes, and in which it says:

As far as I can tell, those *.dds-files are all in the icons/units folder.

Do you guys think this log is related to the crash? If so, what does it mean?

Does anybody have a clue as to what I can do to fix this crash?

Progress, but not yet there. I noticed that a few of these icon files was smaller in size than my friend's, so he sent me his entire TM mod folder, and it seemed to work, but then eventually it crashed again, this time with a new message:

Alright, for future reference, I think I have solved this.

I noticed that the "size on disc" of some of the files in the Total Mayhem folder was 0 bytes, whereas none of my friends had the same situation on their computers - despite us downloading the exact same mod folder.

It seems there was something fishy with the hard drive (SSD) I had installed SupCom on, where it tried to save space by not reserving enough clusters, or something. I'm not sure. In any case, installing the game on another hard drive (also SSD) resolved the issue with files taking up 0 bytes on the disc, and I have since then not had any crashes.
