@keyser:

Now i see, you want to know why i am so small-minded ?
This is public space here, i can't give a different answer...

@stardust:

You are also not the only one who wanted to tweak/balance/use/modify units from these mods. Actual i have 7 modder on my list.

In case you use units from this mod, then only you and your friends should use this.
You can't upload this to the vault or post it here in the forum or any other public place.

Maybe you will find some free units here:
http://viking.gurut.org/Mods/
Or here: (Almost the same archive)

I never actually specified which mod or mods I was looking at. And truthfully, there's only two people I play with, and anything I did would go to them. None of us game online or are involved with any kind of community, outside of people we know. We all work for a living.

Look, I'm not looking to start a flame war. My sole intention was to add some flair and variety to naval-oriented maps. I'm not looking to rebrand anything, or resell it, or steal it, or anything like that. I don't even plan on taking credit for anything. If you're so concerned with other people ripping off your stuff, don't post it online in the public domain. I'm a writer, and know all about copyright laws and fears of getting ripped off, so let's all just not go there.

Regardless, it's a moot point right now, as I appear to have broken it... AI ACUs don't spawn, which means no AI to playtest against. And with the big wheels on this forum having rendered their verdict without even trying to offer help, I don't expect any help in correcting that either. This has gotten awfully far away from my initial question I asked.

Cheers.

This does not mean that i/we don't help you debugging "borrowed" units. Sure i/we do.
Post a game log game.log or .zip the unit dir and post it.

Hello stardust,

we always need the full game.log, not only some lines.

Code: Select all
attempt to call field `concatenate' (a nil value)

This error happens if you don't have the function table.concatenate() registered in LUA.

If you log shows some errors that are related to utils.lua, then check why this happens.

In case you are using Black Ops FAF version with a non FAF game version,then this also can happen.

Shucks. Okay, I've attached a full log, instead of just the errors and warnings. I do see a couple small things, but I'm not too worried about weapon IDs, I'm confident I can figure that out myself. My hangup right now is why the AI doesn't spawn!

Any help you can provide is appreciated. I'm absolutely mystified how minor changes to a unit's stats file can totally break the AI from even starting up...

Just hunt in your error log for the warning messages and where they start tracing back. It looks as if it's conflicting with an operation that Black Ops is trying to perform. Without having the actual code I can't help you beyond that. The file where the error is occuring is partly cut off - but it appears to be coming from Black Ops.

However, the log also tells me that you're not running any other mods other than your own - and the fact that it's not recognizing the concatenate command at line 105 tells me it's either a typo, or a function reference outside of your mod.

@stardust:

you are using the steam version of supreme commander!

Black Ops FAF needs the FAF game version.
Because the function table.concatenate() only exist in FAF file "utils.lua"

Code: Select all
Error importing '/mods/blackopsfaf-unleashed/lua/blackopseffecttemplates.lua'

Looks like you are using a effecttemplate from Black ops or at least some unitblueprint or script or weapon or projectile is using it.

AN UPDATE.

I went through ALL my unit mod files and changed all filepaths to point to my custom files instead of their source files. Turns out there was a fair bit of correcting to be done!

Still no AI though. Here's a new errorlog. I did notice some cropped paths that point to my supcom directory that have problems, but I never touched any of them. I've attached an updated errorlog, if anyone is able to shed some light on the matter. Much appreciated!
