EDIT never mind, someone explained me already, you can set the "Max height" in Terrain / Heightmap to the desired level.


Left alt inverts brush, so you can unpaint or lower terrain with it.

Also try Target Height, it gives more smooth results than Max Height

Hello,

I am having some trouble trying to change the area of the map that is shown while playing. I am making an 81km x 40km map. created the playable area fine but everytime i play the game the whole make shows up instead of the sides being blacked out.

How to i sort this issue out?

Feature request: be able to use the adaptive feature of the map editor without it creating 1000 lines of .... questionable code that contains a lot of random shit I don't need in _script.lua. If the editor where to just create the tables.lua file, then I could read what I need from it myself. Edit: apparently this already kinda works. You can just revert the changes the editor makes to the scenario file, since after initial setup it only seems to write to the tables file. You can also click "no" on the dialog that asks if the script file should be modified, though that results in an error.

Feature request: map editor leaving _scenario.lua alone when it has no changes to save there. Or perhaps have an option to always leave it alone. Every time I save the map via the editor I end up with a broken _scenario.lua and have to undo the change via my IDEs local history or via git.

BTW, I really appreciate having a working map editor. Thanks so much for creating it!

When you get close to the ground then everything is fine

Read those links carefully - they both talk about this issue in some detail - but to sum it up.

It happens when you cross a certain border value of the height difference between highest on lowest point of the map.


In simple terms, your elevations from the lowest point on your map to the highest, are simply too great.
