Fix the login

Often I will log into these forums with my correct username and password, only to say it failed and am subjected to captcha hell.

So then I start trying other passwords, and get stuck in an endless loop.

Until finally I do the captcha again but with the original password I used to log in, and it works.

Why are the forums doing this?

It is just one of the many balance patch improvements, like the game freezing when someone leaves, makes it easier to snipe a com that is trying to dodge strat bombers when the player cant make a turn. Now dead team members can still impact the game to help their team win without units by paralyzing the enemy
