Yeah pings would be sweet. Also, notifications for idle transports and paused factories maybe?

uploaded Notifications v4.0 v4 to the vault
download from the vault, press the Server Search button to see it.

changes:
- added general options to the ingame preferences menu to (dis-)allow sounds and pings
- added a general option to the ingame preferences menu hide the three buttons unless the mouse is over
- tiny visual changes about the three buttons and the ingame preferences menu
- notifications in the ingame preferences menu can now be clicked to configure it further
- if allowed, notifications will automatically ping every unit that would be selected if it was pressed
- general support for sounds. this does only include sounds that are in the game yet, and i have not set any atm because i have no idea which are fitting where
- reworked the click functions, notifications now put the units to select into their runtimeConfig and the mod framework handles the rest


there is a general rule to (dis-)allow sound and pings each, aswell as each individual notification has an option to (dis-)allow sound and pings


the three buttons only visible on mouseover (cursor not visible), off by default

- pings are only displayed when the player is at least about halfway zoomed out, no idea why

maybe you cant create a ping off your own screen?

v4.1 is also in the vault, but the mod gets problems when units with tagged commands die. this is hotfixed in 4.2


adding a new functionality, requested by SetonsGrandPa:
a hotkey that tags a command, when it's executed, the player will receive a notification

when the startup time elapsed (default 60s), the new notification will add a key to the keybindings menu (F1)

when this key is used, all currently selected units get their currently last order tagged
in this case, the drop command was given, the hotkey pressed, and then another move order added

units can have multiple tagged commands, and further commands can be given to that unit without problems
ordering it to stop, or giving a command without keeping shift pressed will reset the tagged commands for the selected units


other changes:
- small fixes in the mod framework
- adding an observer layer, notifications can subscribe to (only very few yet) functions and check paremeters/tables
- added observer notifications, these do not have a retrigger delay (because the real events don't have delays either, but they trigger only once for each event)

Small bug
Hydro construction notification works wrong. It triggers right after construction is started. And i always forget to put my engies on assist after i finish air fac that is constructed after hydro :)

(v4.3 is also in the vault but i forgot to remove a debug message, sorry for spamming the vault :) )

- fixed a bug in the "command executed" notification, queueing buildings after tagged command no longer breaks it
(it's because build orders call the OnCommandIssued function twice, but only one ends up in the unit command queue, this pushed the tag to the previous order)
- added tooltips to the three buttons, hopefully more people notice their functionality now

removing orders by ctrl+rightclicking them causes problems, i'll try to tackle this in a week when i have more time

sadly, pressing enter does not work (very intuitive, i know...), but it should be in the vault

hi my little toolbar is gone, probably i turned it off and now cant move notifications.
any way to tun it on in gameprefs or something?

yes, in your game.prefs you can search for "reminder_settings". you probably want to change values in the "global" subtable
