watermelon wrote:@Shadows, I'd like to suggest an option to your mod to be able to set the inner color of a unit or building to a lighter color. This would be a good option when playing with a dark faction color like purple or dark blue.

Example:

Perhaps white is a bit too bright but you get the idea.
Yeah I thought about it in the past and even tried it but it didn't differentiate enough from icons in their selected state and made everything very confusing.

Can you set it so that in their selected state the icons go dark? And could it be different for different colours? Otherwise an option would be awesome, right up until you play with someone using white.

Making it different dynamically for different team colours is not possible.
As for a static solution, I remember trying to go with white symbols in the past (with black selected state) for the small version, but the team colours in the background were too bright to let it be useful. Only a few dark team colors could benefit from it (like black) but most of them are only available in the vanilla version of Forged alliance or old versions of FAF.

Hey Shadows,

Just wanted to say thanks, very nice mod and extremely useful. Especially if you have a higher resolution.

thankyou. :)

it goes in the wine prefix folder of that path :)

if you have issue with linux i could help, i have it running *almost* perfectly, on wine1.9 with the native d3d for mesa... downloads maps no problem... all (ui) mods work fine.

only issues i have are:
  • windowed does not work properly.
  • alt-tabbing, or switching tty will perma-bork the game. interestingly, switching virtual desktop in gnome does not cause this however, but the window switcher will. no idea how it interacts with compiz.
  • some effects do not render. this is probably mesa's fault. Aeon+Cybran com gun, purple seraphim build swirl, com upgrade swirl. easily worked around by setting strategic projectile lod to 1.

everything else is fine... any issues i had before that were solved by using a 32-bit wine prefix instead of 64.

I have not read the thread and I am pretty sure this has been asked, but is it possible for the icons to scale down if there are other icons in the proximity that would cause them to overlap?

Ah, your mod does not communicate with the game, I see. It's a great mod anyway! The most I like that you can now see immediately if the enemy team has an anti nuke facility. The original icons are just so bad and unintelligible.
