No CD

Just reinstalled FA after a long time and found this gem.

Anyways, I gotta run the disk in the drive with FFA after a patch. Sooooo anyway I can get this to run without having to have the CD in? I'd appreciate any help.

download steam, and enter your retail CD key there.
will probably allow you to Download the game through Steam, rather than use CD.

I believe FAF patches the game to not need the cd to play...I could be wrong - have you tried playing after installing FAF?

install the official patches (up to version 3599) it's not needed for FAF but it allows you to play without having the CD inside (

I could not find an active link for the official patches. Everyone I tried was not supported anymore by the host, including GPG's. That's how I found FAF, actually. But I do have a legal copy so I'll try to figure out how to input my key in Steam and try that route. Either way looks like I'll have to uninstall.

If you guys DO have a link to a retail - current patch that is still active please link. Would help me out and others possibly too. Thanks for all your comments so far.

Errrr, if I use the "1.5.3596 to 1.5.3599" do I not need to use a "retail to 1.5.3595" first? Or will adding this to a clean installed game updated with FAF function properly?

I think retail is 3596.
