you can play how you want to if you can win with your own style

don't expect people to welcome different playstyles if they are known to suck unless you can prove them wrong by winning

yes if you don't go to mid to get a decent share of those free 14k mass then your team will have a hard time - that's just how it is
if you don't feed mass to your team then you better have a decent plan to compensate

On the topic, I'd say that gap, thermo, astro crater and similar maps attract the most butt hurt people. At least the majority of reports to moderators I went through were from these maps.

there are more than enough people in ladder in the lower rating segment - finding someone who isn't a pro isn't hard

the issue with ladder is that you have to pay a lot more attention compared to team games and if you lose then you can't shift the blame on your team

imo it's kinda funny that you mention maps like astro or thermo as maps you prefer since you literally can't do fun stuff on them due to the natural limitation of the map

don't get me wrong; if you wanna play a map where you have your mex concentrated at your spawn and no available avenues to attack other than a small path in the middle and maybe some air cheese then that's totally fine - but most maps don't encourage sitting on your spawn

team games have air spots... people will expect air player to make air, and not make any air or aa themself, and then blame air player if he didn't provide cover. if you are not going to play your role in 800+ game you should really tell about it in chat. maybe in smaller rating you can do whatever you want cause everyone does that... even if someone tryes to make air on air spot you should expect them to fail even if they will not ever be attacked.
