Call for a web based platform

Hi Dude,


This is a call for all the sup com fan serie !!!
I am willing to build a open web platform for the game that we all love with at least replay, mod and map vault.

The aim of this platform will be to gather us and build something together with no pushing about how and what should be played.
There will be for the most played mod a ladder and multi mod ladder
Of course a powerful chat with may be blog feature and so on.


I am thinking to make this with java ( websocket, jsf, ....) and open sourced
It will not be easy but for sure an interesting adventure

I really do wonder your joyousness !!!

FAF is the gathering of the most pessimistic people I ever saw. I do hope they will fine in the future some medics to bring you back some faith

Till then ... I will be happy if someone could provide me some material the like a hello world stuff to begin with lobby mechanics ...

Oh, yes, a lobby with a map vault, easy to launch mods, a chat and a ladder. That would be that cool.

No wait, there is arelady something like that! Its called "FA Forever". You might wanne google it and try this! The feature list matches pretty good

Here is code I've received from the original GW team when I've started FAF.

I was sadly way ahead of what it does at that time, but it should give you a good start.

From there, you just need to implement a livereplay server, a map/replay vault and blogs, should be fairly easy.

Thx Zep ... I haven't expected lot of help and specially not from you !!! Well ... you could also help me later on when the project will have been refactored and you finished with GW.

I mean .. It will be a java open source project we can get a lot of support from the community and a true legacy project for the next generation
