The publisher also announced that patricians pre-ordering the game will receive the game's first piece of downloadable content – the Greek States Culture Pack, which adds three additional playable factions to the game; Epirus, Athens and Sparta – on release day.

I think this game will be awesome! Can't wait ^^
So if you also know that you will buy it, do this now as you get the Greek States Culture Pack for free.

I had also a look at the Collector's Edition, but thats realy not worth it.

release: 3. September 2013

What do you think about the game?

I think that this game is (like FAF) is what makes pc gaming have a slight intellectual lean vs. CoD fanboys.

I read about this guy called Crassus who fought partians in the middle east for fame. It was funny because the whole time in the desert (with thousands of heavily armoured romans) the partians always just kited them, ran away then fired more arrows at them :D. its like gattling bots vs loads of strikers but in infinite space LOL.

Theres a name for kiting in the aincient world, the 'parthian shot'

Anyway they killed him by pouring gold down his throat :).

That wasnt THAT bad though, he was responsible for crucifying a slave every 10 feet (or something) for miles on the road to Rome, and the corpses were there decomposing for weeks.

The ancient world is the perfect scene, I cant wait for this game to show me the gore :D

A german teacher used Rome I to show his students a historical fight. I realy like the historical accuracy in the game.
And the roman empire is also my favorite part in history. I think guns are destroying nice fights, not in all games but very often.

I *was* excited, but.... the DLC will kill it. That, and the price.. £44.99, are they joking?
I'll do what I have been doing for years, playing rome and medieval mods. Until there's a steam sale. Or they realise that £44.99 is way overpriced...
