I vote for timeouts/disconnects, set a time that only you and other trusted people know as the grace period for a rehost. This way someone can't say "Hey, the disconnect time is 6 minutes and we are getting crushed already at 4 minutes! I'm gonna unplug my ethernet cable!" and then derail the tournament. After grace period, disconnect should count as death.

CLARIFICATION: "all mexes" means that things like "side mex" on wonder will be used, however, "spawn points" will all be closed, unless otherwise stated. I will have to set these up quick this morning.
