its imo a lot more interesting than 75% of the interesting games happening in round 1-3 on 5x5 maps.

Hmm I thought most tourneys already seeded, but I don't pay too much attention. Totally agree tho, unseeded tourneys can be a trainwreck and the argument that casters need even games throughout is adressed by blodir's post, tho frankly FAF should just learn to host tourneys within narrower skill band than people usually do. Much more interesting for everyone to see 2 tourneys with brackets of O1900 and U1900 for example where you have lets say 8 players in each where because of lower amount of people you can put BO3-BO5 as early as semi-finals or even earlier for big tourneys. On the other hand you could have 16 player all welcome tourney where you cant afford BO3+ because its too many people and U1900 dudes will inevitably get wiped out. And without seeding that might as well be a stomp in the finals.
