SupCom World Cup

So I was thinking we could have a tourney where we play it like the world cup format. We start out with the group stage, where each player in the group plays each other. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Then we can move on into the knockout stage with the top two from each group. The number of groups will depend on how many people want to do this. PM me or post here if you think this is a good idea. If we get more than 8 people interested, then I can post more about this tournament.

I don't have a definite time decided yet. But I was thinking we could have the group stage over a weekend, and then have a few days or so for each knockout round to be completed. The format would be the same as the real world cup:

Each group has 4 players, each player plays each other in the group. 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Any ties in points will be broken by the players' head to head record (If player A and player B each have 4 points for example, but Player A won when the two met, Player A is ranked higher.) If the head to head record is a draw, a rematch will be played. Then after all group games are finished, the top two from each group will progress into the knockout stage. A minimum of 8 players are required (2 groups, top two from each group move into semifinals.) But more would be preferable.
