Alright, report number 3.

Client Development
Earlier in the week it looks like a few people were debating over some newer layouts for the front page of the client, something to do with mouthbreathers perspective new players having difficulty navigating how to host or join games in the client.
I have no idea if these will actually get implimented or if this is just a pipe dream but here's what seems to be the final rough sketch of what we might be looking at.

The second half was spent shitposting Australia

Crashes, Downtime and the Apocalypse
So earlier in the week some stuff died and people were randomly disconnected from the client/forums or something like that. This may or may not have something to do with a bunch of dots along the chain updating/fixing their shit due to the whole Meltdown/Spectre debacle.
Not sure if it's still going to be ongoing but I advise not panicking if something happens.

Tournaments
Things are packed for the next month or so including but not limited to some faction specific tourneys and some absolutely obese teamgame ones.
So I advise keeping an eye on the Tournaments page in the forums for when the directors actually get around to advertising their events.


Memes, dreams and soda streams
It looks like Medicraze (The one who makes videos viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15595 ) wants to get into the ebin maymay trade and make videos like this but for FAF

What does this mean for you? It means he wants you to do dumb shit in ladder games and win through sheer style and then send the replay to him.

Also something to do with English and Irish people being nice. Crazy, I know.

I like the design for the frontpage. There is "Play" twice. Funnily enough FAF News bears resemblance to Fake News, that might help promote the game with some meme pics like: Look son, Fake News in FAF News ^^

Yeah the sketch was rough as stated, there is also same cast/stream pic, same icons for the community links, same background image for the tab buttons etc., same news article four times. But it gives an idea of the layout.

The focus should be imho:

1. Important News
2. Play the game

The content in the design is what matters most viba. It is better than what we have now in what's new.
We could also make ladder more visible to find for newcomers by highlighting it more. Maybe put the symbolic ladder pic next to it where it says choose ypur faction or something...

We should integrate this 'this week in slack' section in the future client lobby .

Another week goes by and... not a lot happened really, some people asked questions about mapping and modding but nothing not worthy. Guess everyone went back to work after the holidays or something.

Was at hard work on my mod but nothing yet posted. Some very cool stuff is coming soon !!

This is a Call

There is a dev/contributor call/conference thing coming up. Where they talk about... things and stuff.
Date has yet to be confirmed but it's shaping up to look like it will happen at the end of the month/really early Feb.

Yeah basically nothing else of interest has happened except IPv6 becoming literally Hitler but you've all heard about that.
