We are looking for testers to come and check out our little teaser we've brewed up for the upcoming Nomad Campaign! We have made good progress in designing the missions and making steps towards bringing them to life, for the eventual full release to be available for coop.

Right now the bulk of mission two has been set up, but we need testing for feedback and reports for debugging while we incorporate the finishing details to the rest of the mission, which we may fully release for more testing later on. The following is the mission folder you will need to be able to test out the mission for yourself:

Bear in mind of course that there will be several issues that you might encounter as you play this tester, so it is good to keep this in mind and to pay any attention to things you may notice to be broken or out of the ordinary. We highly encourage for you to describe the bugs you encounter in detail, and to post the replay ID for the devs here to work with and make the necessary changes for correcting.

If you would like to provide further support for the project, contact JJs_AI, Exotic_Retard, zesty_lime, or I so that we can figure out how we may utilize your help in bringing out the vision for the Nomads Campaign :D

Tried to run the mission with the map from the link and the .scd file + the coop mod from the other thread but i couldn't select anything which is kind of a handicap

is there a new coop mod version?

No. The way speed does it should use the most up-to-date version of the Nomads mod. If you're unsure, host a regular Nomads game to make sure you have the most recent release.

The only way i could select the acu is with a right click on the panel on the right, you can give orders but it doesn't do anything.
Also your initial resource storage is empty.

If you spawn a second acu (with the cheat menu) it works fine. (I just spawned some tanks to complete the objectives, hope that doesn't influence anything)

Completing the first objective got me one map expansion. Killing the UEF base got me an "Objective completed" but other than that nothing happened.
I guess there should be some sort of attack on the civilian base?

Killing the Cybran commander and destroying the civilian base get you the appropriate notifications, but again nothing else.

Since there is a picture with the proper gate-in animation in the first post and i don't see that (the acu is just there), i guess there is something wrong about my coop set up?

Nomads COOP Installation Instructions:

BEFORE DOING THIS, PLEASE LAUNCH A NOMADS GAME ON FAF TO RETRIEVE THE MOST UP-TO-DATE VERSION OF THE MOD!

First off, you'll need our most up-to-date init file to run the Nomads Coop mod.
I have provided a link here for you to download it: https://mega.nz/#!B8c21baL!LIzf0KkXZqpb ... 1A-KKxBmGk

Once you have downloaded this file, place it here: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin

Create a shortcut from the ForgedAlliance.exe in the C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin folder where you placed your init.

Move the shortcut to your desktop

Right click on your new shortcut and click properties.

Find "Target" under the Shortcut tab in your properties.

Copy this to your target: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe /init init_n_coop.lua

Click Apply and close the window.

Double click on your new shortcut and a new window of Forged Alliance will run with your init mounted.

Once on the main menu, go to Skirmish, and you'll find our Playable Teaser there.

This should stop any issues with Nomads + Coop. Speed's way works, but it's heavily out-dated.

Should further issues appear, please post them here and we can fix them right away. Feedback is also appreciated.

Thank you to those for your logs. This should negate the issues you've experienced. Enjoy.

These instructions will also work for other missions we release until the client supports them.

Just a small update, in case you want to play the missions with friends, heres how to get nomads working for you in faf coop:

We can do this by modifying the coop init file, and then preventing FAF from patching it. You will need to undo these changes if you want to play coop without nomads!

1.Download JJs modified Init file from here (same as in above post): https://mega.nz/#!B8c21baL!LIzf0KkXZqpb ... 1A-KKxBmGk
2.Rename the file to "init_coop.lua"
3.Replace the existing file with the same name here: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin
4.Right click on it, select properties, and set the read only checkbox to true - this will prevent FAF from patching it back to the standard version
5.Host a game with any mission- you will get an error saying file could not be downloaded. This is expected, click ok and set up the host
6.The lobby should launch. You know you did everything right if you have the nomads icon appear in the faction selection. Note - some missions lock in your faction, change the map to a nomads mission to change your faction!
7.Change the map to a nomads mission in the settings, then set your faction to nomads (of course) and enjoy!
8.You could in theory do this to non-nomads missions but obviously those arent supposed to support them, so expect massive bugs, and just know that you are well outside the usual circumstances.

Everyone in the game needs to have completed these instructions, otherwise the game will desync and/or the rest of the players wont be able to play!

To play normal coop again you need to uncheck read only from the init file, which will then be patched back to normal, otherwise the game will desync!
