How would one be able to play offline lan games with the nomad mod enabled?

create a shortcut of the forgedalliance.exe in this hidden folder: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin

then modify the path of this shortcut to look like the following: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe /init init_nomads.lua
double click the modified shortcut...

btw, you can do this with every mod, just look at the .lua files in the folder C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin and change the path accordingly.
before you can play offline, you have to install faf, start faf and start a game of the nomads mod (just start the lobby, you do not have to start the actual game), just to make sure that everybody uses the same version.

edit:
when in a distant future faf has to shut down the server, this is the way you can still enjoy faf offline:
just save these folders and restore them after you have installed faf on your new computer to be able to start fa and mods offline:
C:\ProgramData\FAForever
C:\Users\*your username*\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games

It is still the intention to do an offline version of Nomads. It just isn't finished enough yet, but perhaps an offline "beta" version is possible.

I did what you said but it still doesn't work :/

"Hedef" means "Path", "Kısayol" means "Shortcut"

That's not very nice to do that.

FAF can only be alive if the online community is there.

If the online population decrease, less people will think there is future for FA, and I can't use the amount of players as an argument to make new people come online.

The "online" number is the only thing we can you as advertising. And it's the only thing that make new stuff (like coop, GW, ...) possible.

So basically, doing that is killing FAF, and by extension make new features less prone to happens.

Same for people using FAF as a map repository to play on steam.

it dosnet let me build units when the nomad mod is enabled. do you know why that is?

its becasue last patch of faf whre they remove "non used" part of code was also used with some mods for example nomads. so it need be repaired, but mod autors are out of faf atm, so basicaly last faf patch is kiling moding. Thats why...

Any telling of when we might get this fixed? It has been over a year since this problem first started I believe, and I would expect this to be fixed by now.
