So, what exactly does the capacitor do?

Postby Plasma_Wolf » 15 Feb 2017, 23:56

I've read in the unit list thread and the capacitor is only mentioned.

I've tried pushing the button a couple of times but I see no visual effect on the button that it's been activated. I also don't see for how long it's going to be active and on the field I don't see it's effects.

Is that blue bar about the capacitor?

Could you give some more explanation as to what its mechanics are?

currently the capacitor is charged with power overflow and can only be activated when its fully charged. It will boost the vision radius, the regeneration and it will double the build rate while active. Furthermore the overcharge does more damage when its on.

Active time is 10 seconds.

In the future this might change, to an ability similar to overcharge (probably as an update), where you activate it for a power cost, it charges and then gives you some stronger bonus

I hope it doesnt change, I like that Nomads have the unique playstyle of wanting to build excess energy to power their capacitors.

slightly off-topic again, but related.

I've tried messing around with the nomads mod yesterday, and i didn't pay full attention, but if you charge the capacitor, and then decide to install an other upgrade instead, you will still have the shiny effect "hey, i'm charged". i don't think it's harmful to the game though, but i didn't check whether the 100 energy drain continues or not.

you may want to look into this.

I'll create an issue to keep track of the bug (most likely it is only an effect being played and not removed when you remove the upgrade) and will fix it as soon as I find the time :) thx for the report!
