I agree

People with slow pc shouldn't expect they can ruin a game for 11 other players. Exactly the same why shooters autoeject players with bad ping.

About every 2nd game in self-hosted 6v6's I encounter a new player (with 1k+ rating and 100+ games played) I haven't played with before with sub 200 CPU yet 3 simspeeds below everyone else with 200 cpu. .

These are people with laptops. The laptops work just fine for the first 5 mins of the game then overheat and thermal throttle.

The solution to this is a CPU lookup table to CPU pass mark bench core single threaded.

Yes, like posted on page 1.

Listing CPU model I've already suggested three years ago;
/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12525

The singlecore speeds for Passmark are from better-cooled systems than the average laptop, so would still result in the same problem. And on the other hand it would not take into account stable overclocks, as used by many FAF player with a desktop. E.g. i5-2500(K) is ~222 at default, ~190 at 4 GHz.

Foelist can potentially only fix the other half. If everyone is +0 and one is -3... we need a way to eject that lagger.

But even the foesystem is broken as foes can join your games with changed nickname and except checking each nickname manually there is nothing that helps showing where foes are. Old lobby in the past showed hosts's name red if there was a foe in the lobby.

You plead guilty? :lol:

btw i'm a 450 Cpu rating (it's funny 4 month ago i was 300, with the same cpu...) and i don't go under -1 on lots of map, only seton, 2v2v2 and other turtle maps. So you need to be carefull about those numbers.

So in short you say;

*Kick option not needed because CPU score is there
*CPU score is bullshit

Does not compute!!!

1) CPU rating is not accurate... enaling autokick by CPU rating would just kick everyone who alt+tab while join

2) It is little to cruel to kick peopele like that, you should just set a rule that you want players should have good PC andlow cpu rating (in host name)

3) I heared there is an issue that some good CPUs get bad CPU rating, so system will jsut auto kick them without them even having a chance to play or tell anything

I think you misunderstood my suggestion. It's not about kicking in lobby. It's about kicking in-game.

It's impossible to have a 100% accurate up-front prediction about someone's late-game sim speed. That's why the kick option is needed.

I already host with the catch all "no lag".

This is so funny, where it went. You played 7 player phantom-x with 3x 500+ pings and guy with CPU score 450. I didn't expect anything else than lag early that game, didn't you? If you start a game with such people, than don't complain at all. You could leave it yourself before start or whine about CPUs in lobby. The vote thing was suggested 1 or 2 times, but there's the reason it's not made - people will abuse it for sure to get those useless points and ruin fun of the game. Yes, lagging is not nice, yes acting like guy who made you to rage isn't too, but not playing with these people is a better and easier solution than kicking people out of games.

Most CPU bars weren't shown, as is a problem occurring since last patch. Nor were there any ping bars shown in lobby. There was one guy with bad ping and cpu, neither of which showed to me in lobby.

Now the game is ruined by lag. All these obscure abuse scenarios people come up with are nothing compared by the shit that is in the game already or even just the lagging.

Or their roommate came home and started downloading porn? What do you do in the case where it's not up to the player? Or where they didn't know they were going to lag at the start? Too bad, so sad?

What about people who lag only temporarily? You set the timer at 1:00 and they lag for 1:01 -- game over? What if they are on the winning team and the game is about to end with them sniping you?

Roommate downloading won't affect simspeed.

What if a giant purple turtle ate their PC?

What if someone gets fed up with the lag and leaves? That is fine in your eyes? I've both won and lost countless games where someone else than the lagger got fed up and left. Usually someone with a bigger/better base and army than the lagger. Besides the proliferation of client-side crashes one of the reasons I only host full-share.

Anyway; none of these reasons is a valid excuse to stick around and waste 7 other people's time with your own lag problems.

Simspeed lag in itself is a cheat in my eyes. Some people tend to play much better with the slowdown, others only worse.

Actually a better analogy would be this: people who have a ferrari don't have the right to kick people who have a toyota off the road.

And since speed limit is set by host BEFORE game starts, there is nothing to discuss right? Right??
