thats why I primarily use the ctrl + . shortcut to select engys only...
thats also good if you got another faction after somebody got killed in fullshare mode...

Boom! Didn't know about that shortcut, that will be very helpful. :)

As for the advanced strategic icons mod, it's here. It makes the icons look a bit ugly depending on your resolution, but you will never lose an important building again, and if you're trying to work out what your enemy has it is so much easier.

the keybindings are located under: GAZ_UI/modules/keymapping.lua

search for this line:

Code:
KeyMapper.SetUserKeyAction('select_all_t1_engineers', {action = 'UI_SelectByCategory LAND TECH1 ENGINEER', category = 'selection', order = number + 13})

try to change it from TECH1 to TECH2 ENGINEER, or make a new keybinding for t2 and t3...

I'm not at home to test it and I'm not very familiar with the lua codes ... so don't expect too much ;)
but definitly I'm going to try that out as well as soon as possible (got that idea because of this thread... thx)

i didn't even know about the icons mod...do u use it for other things, too?

the ctrl group is no option for me...in the heat of battle i build a t2 engineer and focus on other stuff...than when i remember that i build it, i switch back to the fac and don't find it :D...often there is a moveorder on the factory so that it could be hidden anywhere on the map...and i don't have the time for hide and seek ;)

ill give the "ctrl +" and select a shot :)

1. Assign your high-tech engineer a Ctrl group, or

2. Use the advanced strategic icons mod, or

3. Shift-select the area you know the engineer is in and look for him in the bar at the bottom.

I often encounter the problem, that I can't find my t2/t3 engineer among other units. I found a shortcut that gives me the next idle t1 engineer (or generally the next idle engineer...i'm not sure about that). How do you track down the t2/3 engineers? Did i miss a shortcut? Is there a workaround?

I guess playing the engy-mod makes it even worse for me cuz there gonna be much more different types of engineers on the field.
